• Forrest Galante is an American wildlife biologist, adventurer and TV star.
• Just as it did for many other outdoor adventurers in the past decades, it was the Animal Planet network that brought Forrest to the public’s attention. He is now the host of a successful show called Extinct or Alive.

Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :

• Galante was born on March 31, 1988, in California. When he was still very young, he moved with his family to Harare, Zimbabwe.
• Forrest’s passion for animals has probably stemmed from his mother, who was leading a safari business there in Africa.
• He spent his childhood on a farm where he interacted daily with the livestock and lots of wild African animals. His interest in wildlife grew bigger and bigger as he started to explore the rich African fauna, learning how to handle snakes or trap and observe other small animals.

• While he was living in Zimbabwe, Forrest attended an English boarding school. He joined the Junior Herpetology Society in order to pursue his passion for nature.
• He graduated from high school in Santa Barbara, California, after returning to the US.
• Later, he headed to the University of California, earning a degree in Biology.
• Galante made his TV debut in 2013, when he appeared the first time on Naked and Afraid & successfully completed the three weeks survival challenge in northwest Panama.

• In 2016, together with his photographer, Forrest filmed their movie called Dancing with Dragons. They managed to swim extremely closed to the crocodiles as they were wearing special costumes that imitate the reptiles’ scaly skin.
• Galante militates against animals’ extinction and he managed to make a living out of the principles he stands for.
• In 2018, he became the host of Animal Planet’s show Extinct or Alive, where the adventurer tries to reveal whether or not extinct animals could still be found alive in areas around the globe.
• The animals he has looked for include the Formosan clouded leopard, the White Wolf, and the Pachylemur.
• Besides his own show, Forrest has appeared on numerous other shows, including the Joe Rogan Experience, The Nightly Show, The Today Show, and Shark Week, making himself a truly well-known personality in his field.

• Galante’s unstoppable passion for wildlife and his thirst for adventure led him into trouble for way too many times one could imagine. He claims he has been “bitten by a venomous snake, mauled by a lion, charged by a hippo, bitten by a shark and stung by a jellyfish.”
• During his appearance on Naked and Afraid, Galante scored one of the highest PSR (primitive survival rating) that the program has ever recorded.
• In his quest to find as many extinct species as possible, he traveled across no less than 45 countries.
• Probably the most notable of his discoveries so far is the Fernandina Tortoise, which was considered extinct since 1906. Galante and his team saw it in Galapagos in February 2019 and documented the encounter.
• Gizzi was once a Parish Council member for the St. Matthew’s Cathedral church.
