What is Pearl Boy?

What is Pearl Boy?

Pearl Boy is a Korean manhwa written by Zoy, illustrated by Inking and published by Lezhin Comics in 2020. However, the manhwa has since been published digitally in English on January 6, 2021, by Lezhin Comics. Written in three seasons and 90 chapters, the manhwa was completed on July 8, 2023.

Pearl Boy was well-received by fans. However, there are also negative reviews calling the manhwa “just another porn-without-plot type of story”. Also, the author, Zoy, was criticised for promoting sexual violence through her work. As a result, Zoy announced that she was taking a break to focus on her mental health after the 50th chapter was released.

As for the art, while many believe that Inking did decent work, others believe that the characters are drawn “unattractively, with big glossy lips, psychotically large open grins, and dead fish eyes”.
