Tracy McGrady leaves Stephen Curry out of Top 10 list for failing to make playoffs

The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry is famously known as the best shooter in the league’s history. However, there are still debates about the star’s rank in the all-time greatest list. While many consider him one of the most influential players, former NBA star Tracy McGrady is not quite impressed as he counted Curry out of the top 10 list.

Recently, the former Rockets’ star posted a video on his social media. The video features his reaction to a site calling Stephen Curry among the top 5 players of all time. Tracy McGrady immediately disagreed as he stated that Curry hasn’t even reached the top 10 mark.

No, he's trippin on that. He [Curry] hasn't cracked my top 10 yet. He just hasn't.

According to McGrady, Curry has not achieved anything solo to be considered in the top 10. As Curry did not even manage to make it to the playoffs in the absence of Draymond Green and Klay Thompson‘s injury, McGrady stated that there was ‘no chance’ that Curry would be in the top 5.

However, by captioning the video, McGrady admits that the Warriors’ guard is the best shooter of all time. The star’s statement about the top 10 list was enough for fans to lash out against McGrady. The fans were shocked and disappointed by McGrady’s reason behind his Curry opinion.

Tracy McGrady stated that Steph Curry would not be in the top 10 without luck

This is not the first time McGrady has shown doubts about Curry’s top-10 credibility. In another question-answer session on Instagram, the former athlete stated that the championships do not define a player’s greatness. McGrady believes that luck plays a huge role in winning championships.

McGrady named a few stars in NBA history who had amazing careers but never won any rings, yet he considers them great. While explaining his claim, McGrady cited Curry as he had Thompson and Kevin Durant by his side to win rings. However, according to him, Curry would not be considered top 10 if he played for an organization like the Charlotte Hornets.

Let's say he [Curry] played with the Hornets his whole career, and we know how bad the Hornets organization has been. Are we still talking about Steph Curry as a Top 10 player of all time? No, it's luck, man. So I don't define it by winning.

This opinion of McGrady also did not receive the best reaction as the star himself has never won a championship. Curry has some unbreakable records to his name due to his incredible shooting. Hence, counting the guard out from the top 10 rather than the top 5 is a bit far-fetched for NBA fans.
